Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly analytical Internal Control Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating internal processes, identifying risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and strengthening the bank’s control environment.

Key Responsibilities:
◦ Review and evaluate the effectiveness of internal control systems across departments
◦ Conduct periodic audits and compliance checks in line with regulatory requirements
◦ Identify operational, financial, and compliance risks and recommend mitigation strategies
◦ Monitor adherence to internal policies and external regulations (e.g., CBN guidelines)
◦ Investigate irregularities, fraud cases, and control breaches
◦ Prepare detailed audit reports and present findings to management
◦ Track implementation of audit recommendations and corrective actions
◦ Support continuous improvement of internal processes and controls

Requirements:
◦ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
◦ Minimum of 2years’ experience in internal control, audit, or compliance (preferably in banking)
◦ Professional certification such as ICAN, ACCA, or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) is an added advantage
◦ Strong knowledge of internal control frameworks and risk management practices
◦ Familiarity with banking regulations and compliance standards

◦ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
◦ High level of integrity and attention to detail
◦ Excellent report writing and communication skills
◦ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and audit tools
◦ Ability to work independently and as part of a team
