Job Summary
We are seeking a firm, experienced, and highly professional HR Manager to lead and manage all human resource functions for a quick service restaurant, Lagos. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building structured HR systems, driving a high-performance culture, and ensuring compliance with labor laws while maintaining the brand’s standard of excellence in service delivery.
The HR Manager must be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of managing workforce dynamics within a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. HR Strategy & Structure
Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and systems aligned with the restaurant’s vision and operational goals
Set up and maintain a structured HR framework suitable for a fine dining environment
Drive organizational development and workforce planning
2. Recruitment & Talent Management
Lead end-to-end recruitment processes for all roles (front-of-house, kitchen staff, management, etc.)
Design job descriptions, screening processes, and interview frameworks
Build a strong talent pipeline and ensure timely hiring of qualified candidates
Oversee onboarding and induction processes to ensure smooth employee integration
3. Employee Relations & Performance Management
Act as a firm and fair mediator in employee relations issues
Implement performance management systems, including KPIs and appraisals
Handle disciplinary procedures in line with company policy
Promote a positive yet disciplined workplace culture
4. Training & Development
Identify training needs and coordinate staff training programs (customer service, compliance, hygiene, etc.)
Develop and implement onboarding and continuous learning programs
Support managers in coaching and developing team members
5. HR Operations & Administration
Oversee payroll preparation, attendance tracking, and leave management
Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation
Ensure proper documentation of contracts, policies, and compliance materials
6. Compliance & Policy Enforcement
Ensure compliance with Nigerian labor laws and health & safety regulations
Develop and enforce workplace policies, including hygiene and safety standards required in a fine dining setting
Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to company policies
7. Culture & Employee Engagement
Build a strong service-oriented culture aligned with fine dining standards
Implement employee engagement initiatives and retention strategies
Foster professionalism, discipline, and teamwork across all levels.
Requirements & Qualifications
Minimum of 5 +years proven experience as an HR Manager or HR Generalist (preferably in hospitality or service-based industry)
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
Professional HR certification (e.g., CIPM, SHRM, HRCI) is an added advantage
Strong knowledge of Nigerian labor laws and HR best practices
Experience setting up HR structures from scratch is highly desirable
