Job Summary
Location: Lagos, Nigeria (Hybrid)
At Pandar, we are building infrastructure that requires trust, accountability, and regulatory excellence.
We are looking for a Compliance and Data Protection Officer who understands that compliance is not about ticking boxes. It is about protecting the business, enabling growth, building stakeholder confidence, and ensuring the company can withstand scrutiny from regulators, partners, auditors, investors, and customers.
This is not an administrative role. We are looking for someone who has helped organizations navigate regulatory requirements, manage compliance risks, develop governance structures, interpret laws and regulations, and build practical systems that work in real business environments.
If you enjoy building frameworks, solving regulatory problems, advising management, and creating order where there is ambiguity, we would like to speak with you.
Duties and Responsibilities
You will serve as the company's compliance and privacy lead, with responsibility for:
-Regulatory and statutory compliance management
-Data protection and privacy compliance under the NDPA
-Corporate governance and regulatory filings
-AML/CFT and compliance readiness initiatives
-Risk assessments and internal controls
-Policy development and compliance monitoring
-Regulatory audits, due diligence exercises, and partner reviews
-Building and maintaining compliance systems across the business
You will work closely with leadership, Finance, HR, Operations, Product, and Engineering teams to ensure compliance becomes part of how we operate, not something we remember when a regulator asks questions.
Qualifications/Requirements
We are particularly interested in candidates who have:
-A degree in Law (strongly preferred) or a related discipline
-3-5 years of experience in Compliance, Legal, Regulatory Affairs, Corporate -Governance, Risk Management, or Data Protection
-Strong knowledge of NDPA, NDPC requirements, and Nigerian regulatory frameworks
-Experience dealing with regulators, auditors, legal advisors, or compliance reviews
-Excellent policy drafting, documentation, and regulatory interpretation skills
-Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
-The confidence to challenge processes and identify compliance gaps
-Experience within fintech, financial services, technology, payments, or crypto-related environments
Expectations
Within your first year:
-Compliance obligations are tracked, documented, and proactively managed
-Regulatory filings and statutory requirements are completed without avoidable penalties
-Data protection compliance frameworks are strengthened and maintained
-Policies, controls, and governance structures are clearly documented
-The business is audit-ready and due diligence-ready at all times
